Beyonce, Rihanna, Naomi Campbell Support #EndSars React To Protest ‘Shootings’ In Nigeria

Beyonce, Rihanna and Naomi Campbell are among the celebrities who have spoken out in support of Nigeria’s #EndSars movement following reports of violence at protests last night.

Thousands of Nigerians joined peaceful protests in Lagos on Tuesday to campaign against police brutality within the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (Sars) unit, which has now been disbanded.

However, reports have emerged of protestors being shot and killed or injured after soldiers opened fire at the Lekki toll gate.

Reacting to the shocking developments, Rihanna shared a heartbreaking photo of a protestor crying out while holding up a bloodsoaked Nigerian flag.

The Work singer added in her Instagram stories: ‘I can’t bear to see this torture and brutalisation that is continuing to affect nations across our planet. ‘It is such a betrayal to the citizens, the very people put in place to protect are the ones we are most afraid of being murdered by. My heart is broken for Nigeria.

It is unbearable to watch.’ Beyonce also spoke out after receiving mounting pressure from fans to support #EndSars, particularly after she highlighted various African cultures in her Black Is King visual album.
